Modgen is a computer software tool for the automatic generation of steady-state process models to be used in instrumentation analysis was developed. It is, essentially, a superset of the C++ programming language in which the application developer simulates the lifetimes of a set of linked actors (e.g. a core individual and related family members). Modgen provides a variety of ways of reporting model simulation output. These include a crosstabulator which writes results in MS Access format, which can then be exported to MS Excel or text file formats, and a tracking facility which produces a relational database of detailed actor information in MS Access format.
